Little Britain USA aired for the first time last night on US television, and it comes to the UK soon. But critics views have been mixed, some love it and some have panned the show calling it “crude” and “low brow”. Brian Lowry from Variety magazine even said “the wit level of these over-the-top interludes seldom rises above what’s scrawled on a middle-school bathroom wall”.
Here is a round up of what the critics have said about Little Britain USA.
Redeyechicago gave a positive review saying “Little Britain humor not lost in USA translation”. They concluded by saying:
The side-splitting sketches—juvenile deliquent Vicky Pollard included—outweigh the stinkers.
USAtoday says “HBO’s Little Britain USA lends us lots of laughs” with the opening line of their report saying “Thank goodness for the naughty Brits”. TVGuide also gave the show a good review rating it 9/10 and saying “Worth the price of admission? And then some”.
However not all the reviews where good!
The LATimes thinks the show goes too far and said
The British sketch comedy series, which began a descent into lowbrow humour before crossing the pond, continues on its unfortunate arc.
Time took it even further saying “this version leaves me cold much like the original does” - the reporter clearly not a fan then.
Our Thoughts
We are already massive fans of Little Britain, so yep we love this to! When I watch it I laugh very hard and for ages, thats a good measure that I love it. This show may not be ’safe and politically correct’ but I think that is a very good thing in the modern era and love watching programs like Little Britain (oh yeah and Family Guy) until my sides hurt!
Enjoy the rest of the 6-part series everyone!

We are now coming to the end of another year, I hope 2007 has been a good one for you. Once you’ve finished your christmas shopping and done your overtime you know what to do - get a blanket, put the fire on, heat up a Mince Pie, cuddle up in front of the Christmas Tree and put on your favourite Little Britain DVD! Good Times!
